02. Calangute Beach




Calangute Beach is the largest beach in Goa, it is also known as the Queen of Beaches. This is one of the top ten beaches in the world, meaning this is one of the tourist destinations in Goa that you should not miss. It is a large, peaceful beach with all kinds of activities to fulfill your dreams during the entire trip. The beach alone is a big attraction for tourists. The beach is ideal for both options, lying down in the sand without fear of being run over or challenging yourself with some water sports.

There are many options to choose from. Calangute's distance from Baga Beach is not great; The two beaches are separated only by some rocks. You can choose to have breakfast or lunch at Baga or Calangute. There are also many great viewing opportunities near Calangute such as Morjim Beach, St. Peter's Church. Arambol Pond, Ashvem Beach, Aguada Lighthouse & Fort Aguada, Nerul River, Local Mapusa Market Friday, Betul & Betul Rivers Estuary.

You will find Calangute turned into a beach for wonderful night parties, which means travelers can spend their nights at Baga beach. Calangute beach connects with most other important tourist destinations in North Goa, which is a good thing place of residence during your visit to Goa.

03. Grand Island




There is no scarcity of water-related activities in Goa. but while the different beaches of Goa offer many options for tourists. Not everyone will find a replacement. Not so on Grand Island. Grand Island is the nirvana of water sports. There is so much to do. It has experience from diving to fishing. Scuba diving is the most popular activity because it offers a lot in exploring its context.

There are shipwrecks found here as well as some reefs. Suzy's wreck, and the destruction of Davy Jones Locker, are especially popular with divers such as Serge City, Bounty Rock, and Turbo Tunnel. Both experienced divers and beginners find something to offer on Grand Island. You can also go scuba diving. Professional trainers will provide equipment and guidance. Bumper boats and banana boats are also popular on the island.

End the day with a fishing trip and a barbecue party you catch. A day trip usually lasts from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm but it can be negotiated in advance. If you want a deep underwater experience, Grand Island is one of the places to visit in Goa. You will return after a tired but satisfied trip with your day. Be sure to bring all of your swimming and beach supplies as well as day backup.

04. Dudhsagar Waterfalls




Dudhsagar Waterfall is located at the Goa-Karnataka border and is one of India's must-visit attractions. The four-story waterfall structure is one of the highest in India and is located on the Mandovi River. The white stream fell from a height of nearly 1017 feet off an almost steep mountain surface. They form part of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Reserve and Mollem National Park, the best way to reach them by taking a park-allocated truck by entering the national park.

Walk inside the park has been closed to the public but you can still get to the waterfall by walking from Kulem and following the jeep path. Another possible route is a walk from Castle Rock in Karnataka. Reaching the waterfall will not be an easy task but it is a worthwhile task for every an ounce of effort. They have the best experience during monsoons because they lose power during the dry season.

Many tours are held during this time so you can choose to go as part of a group. Some tours even have an overnight camping option. But remember to be well prepared to ensure a good experience, especially if you are going on a self-organized trip. The lush green forests and beautiful waterfalls that spray their powerful fountains are a memorable sight after you've left Dudhsagar behind.

05. Fort Aguada




Another legacy from the Portuguese, Fort Aguada has stood strictly on the beach facing the Arabian Sea since 1612 when it was built to provide defense against the Dutch and Marathas invading. It was a large fortress at the time with the ability to hold 79 cannons among other defensive weapons. It is one of the most valuable assets of the Portuguese. Today, it is considered a famous landmark that separates Sinquerium Beach and Candolim Beach.

There is an ancient lighthouse standing in the fortress built in 1864, the oldest lighthouse in shape and size in India. Fort Aguada is a great place to explore when you're out to visit Candolim or Sinquerium beaches. This architecture provides an insight into the construction techniques of the old Portuguese architects and it has some great views that you should really see. The old fort offers a good view of the sea and the sunset is said to be lovely.

Fortresses are a great way to spend an afternoon. The afternoons are often too hot to spend on the beach. But you don't want to be booked in your hotel room when in Goa. So come to Fort Aguada and spend some time exploring it. When you're done, just sit back and enjoy the sea breeze as you let the afternoon go by. And then you can go to one of the two featured beaches in the evening. It makes the perfect getaway on an excursion to the beaches in North Goa.
